What is SciOly?

SciOly is short for Science Olympiad, which is a prestigious science-fair style competition participated by High Schools across the US.

There are 23 unique events that members participate in. Events can be in many various formats including builds, labs, and tests.

Each SciOly team has up to 15 students. Students can participate in multiple events, but each event has a maximum of 2 or 3 students per team.

Learn more on the official Science Olympiad Wiki or our team's Scioly Wiki page.

SciOly @ LAHS

Our Goals:

Learn about yourself as a scientist

Discover your passions, strengths, and weaknesses. Our team actively connects members to other STEM opportunities even outside of SciOly, such as CENG, Los Altos Hacks, etc.

Be part of a strong community

Coming into High School can be intimidating. Our team is close-knit and helps to support a smooth transition.

Mentorship from local undergraduates

We are lucky to be one of the only schools in California that gets funding and personalized tutoring from Stanford students majoring in STEM fields and years of national level SciOly tournament experience.

Support Div. B (Middle School) teams

Our team is partnered with BCS/Egan/Blach, and our members can gain volunteer hours by tutoring Middle School students with Science Olympiad concepts throughout the year. We also run a program over the summer.
